Don't know if you've seen Detroit's own Dal Bouey dancing at the clubs or socials, but she's definitely something else. Online salsa video magazine Nuevotec captured Dal and Jose (last name?) doing a little number on the dance floor at the 2007 New York City Salsa Congress.

Engaging in competition to the be the best is a dream many of us have but few of us commit to and follow through. Nuevotec.com has created a 13 chapter video covering the 2006 world salsa championships following the dancers, promoters and people behind the scenes through this journey.

On a local note, the Detroit Salseros who were around last March for the YA Salsa workshops and social will recognize Darlin Garcia who visited with Leah Patterson for a great weekend of performances and workshops. Darlin is one of the hopefuls whom Nuevotec followed on his quest to be the best; and seriously one of the most gracious guests YA has hosted.
