Our Mission

"To create an environment in which salsa dancers of all levels and styles can thrive in the Detroit area."

The YA Socials and Workshops are the first steps in creating such an environment.

Every person who helps make YA Salsa and its events possible is a volunteer! We are always looking for people who can help us in our mission.

Just some of the ways to help out are:

Putting the word out about YA Salsa and the Detroit Salsa Scene at related events
Writing articles, reviews or comments
Taking pictures at socials , clubs or other events and posting them on YA Salsa
Setting up or cleaning up at the socials
Handing out or posting flyers for YA Salsa, your favorite club or studio
Contributing blogs, comments or ratings
Performing at a YA Event
Becoming an editor or content contributor on YA Salsa
Marketing, media and public relations!!!
Technology
Videography & editing
Reporting -- especially "special interests"

Maintaining event & club listings for Lansing, Kalamazoo & Grand Rapids

These are just some of the ways you can help grow salsa in Detroit -- which is what this is all about.

Growing the salsa scene isn't just the job of the professional instructors and promoters; it takes commitment from the entire dancing community to introduce new people to the scene. Consider yourself deputized! Spreading the word to friends, family and acquaintances is something we all should do everyday.
