Salsa Fridays at The Harem Nightclub
Salsa is played here all night long. You will hear salsa songs ranging from some of the modern favorites to the salsa dura classics. Additionally, the large wood dance floor and low smoke environment make it the ideal place for person looking for the best nightclub to dance salsa.

this night started in January 2007 and has been quickly growing in popularity with beginner and veteran salsa fans alike. The night starts off with 2 salsa classes. The beginner class teaches the basic steps and how to use them with a partner and is preceded by an intermediate class for those who are thirsty for more advanced material.

Here's to One and Many More...

Salsa nights come and go. That's the way its been so far, but there are always a few that hold on at least for a year and Harem joined that club last week. We take clubs like Sangria for granted, but they are a rarity. So when it came time for a toast to Thursday Salsa Nights at the Harem, it was a toast well deserved. The Sky Mambo team (Shekyla, Jamin, Samer & Cat) hung in there week after week doing everything they could to make it work and Harem owner Mohammad stuck with them. One year in the bag!

I forgot to take a book with me to dinner last night between one of many dance lessons and ended up picking up a copy of Strut magazine instead. It opened up to the middle and under the DATE NIGHT column along with a few places I've never heard of was a mention of Sky Mambo with a picture.
Very cool to see my favorite dance venue mentioned!
I tell you what
I just got home at 1:15 a.m. from another fabulous night. I have a bloody toe, two taped up blisters and a throbbing foot. And I tell you what, I wish I was still at harem dancing away. God, I love this place!!!
Good til the last note
I end up staying even after I've taken my shoes off and declared that "I'm done." It's usually chatting and listening to the music that keeps there past my last dance - if I'm not dancing through to the last song that is.
I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one that comes home late from dancing and checks this site! :)
Harem WILL have Salsa on the 24th
This just in.
There WILL be salsa at the Harem on Jen 24th. I just got a call from the owner and the private party they were to have on that night has been called off. So we are back without interruption...

Yes, There will be Salsa Tonight!
One last reminder... There will indeed be salsa TONIGHT at the Harem (Jan 24th)
A month ago, Mohammad (the owner) asked us if it would be for him to reserve the 24th for a private party that would buy out all the booze in the bar. How can we say no to that!? Mohammad has been really good to us and it was the least we could do.
Anyway... we sat on this info for a week or so, and finally announced the news at the social to a mass of 400+ people. The next day he calls me up and tell me the private party is off and we could have the 24th back if we wanted it. Funny timing eh?
Sorry for the confusion! Hopefully we'll see you all tonight :)

Thanks for coming out and making this a fabulous event!
About 200+ people turned out for this opener, some from as far away as Jackson and Toledo. And YES, the bar was busy with people buying drinks! Mohammad, the Harem owner, was very happy with the results of the night. He is taking a bit if a risk by trading in his more profitable Friday events for our Salsa Nights, but like I said before, the decision was made based on quality over quantity. With the love and the faith in our salsa community, we are confident it is a decision that will not disappoint!
We are constantly working to create the best environment for learning and dancing salsa. If there is anything that we can do to make a better salsa experience for you, don’t hesitate to ask. We are listening!
Again, THANKS to all the people that came out to salsa with us on Friday. Also, a special thanks goes out to Albert and George for taking so many great pictures!
