Schedule of Events:

Friday:
---------
1) Time: 6:30 - 7:30pm
Kicking the event off with a brand new workshop called: Afro-Caribbean Dancing - Bachata and Merengue and body movement for those dances.

2) Time: 7:30 - 8:15pm
Afro-Cuban Workshop: Every last Friday of the month, we feature our Afro-Cuban Movement class for all levels. We have gained a greater appreciation for Afro-Cuban movement and music through our in depth look at Rumba, Son and Salsa.

These specialty workshops invite our bodies to freely interpret every rhythm as we unlearn and over-stand the stories that are being told through our body's movement. As we fine tune our ears to the symphony of each musical instrument, we begin to understand that all partner Salsa dancing has a link to folkloric Afro-Cuban dances...

Saturday:
---------------
1)Time: 11:15a - 12:00p
If you thought that duane was done with you, you got it all wrong!!! We welcome you back for our monthly workshop "Energetic Salsa con Timba". At this solo footwork, class you learn all of the fundamental building blocks for Soul°sa, our partner dancing classes. Energetic Salsa classes give you the ability to learn Soul°sa steps more quickly and easily without a partner. This form of Energetic Salsa is the most dynamic footwork class ESDS offers. This class uses a combination of Afro-Cuban Movements mixed with Popular dancing. (Orisha, Rumba, Congo, Son, Mambo, Cha cha chá, Casino, Hip Hop and more…)

2) Time: 12:00p - 1:30p
And once you are wormed up from the Energetic Salsa workshop, we welcome you to join our Gold level "Soulsa" partner-work class. Even though both of the classes are geared towards advanced students, everyone is welcome to attend especially those looking to advance no matter what level you are at.

---- THEN IN THE EVENING ----

2) Time: 8:30p-9:15p
Continuing the evening with a COMPLIMENTARY "Intro to Soulsa" workshop. It is a great time to come in and find out more about the studio, meet the family :) as well as get a change to participate and learn a thing or two.

3)Time: 9:30p - Midnight
And to close of the evening, we'll be hosting our "Monthly Social" Come out and party with us. Everyone is invited. :) From a fun dance challenge, line dancing, and Rueda de Casino, you never know what might happen at an ESDS party. The fun never ceases! When ESDS hosts a party, there is always plenty of food, plenty of music and plenty of fun. There are dance exhibitions, games and the occasional impromptu class.

Sunday:
-----------

1) Time: 12:00p to 2:00p
We are not done yet! We welcome you back for duane's specialty class called "unLEARN and Conquer". This is a musicality workshop. At this workshop the music will be broken down into parts and explained how it relates to the dance :)))) --- A mandatory class for anyone that wants to become a better dancer.

The 37th annual Noel Night will take place on Saturday, December 5th from 5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. in Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center Area. Over 40 institutions, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Science Center, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Detroit Historical Museum, and the Detroit Public Library, amongst many others, open their doors to the public free of charge during this Cultural Center-wide holiday "open house." Activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, holiday shopping, family craft activities and performances by over 70 area music, theatre, and dance groups. The evening's festivities culminate with a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue led by the Salvation Army Band — a long-standing Noel Night tradition.

Noel Night activities take place in and around Midtown Detroit's Cultural Center institutions, primarily between Cass and John R and Kirby and Willis. Free shuttle service is offered between participating venues. Convenient parking is available in area lots. Noel Night is produced by the University Cultural Center Association (UCCA), a nonprofit community development organization that supports economic growth in Detroit's Midtown district.
