Salsa Night Clubs

Salsa Nightclubs are those rare and noble entities that cater to salseros by playing mostly salsa and providing room to dance. We are naturally a bit protective of this designation, so to be on this list it must be a salsa club. Recently we've had a doubling in the number of salsa nights in Detroit and Ann Arbor that meet this designation so it looks like clubs and promoters are seeing the light.

Sundays at Sangria start the new week with the pristine sounds of Tumbao Salsa. Since 2007, Sangria is the only weekly live salsa night in Metro Detroit and features open dancing and a festive crowd.  Group salsa lessons at 9:00 PM with Elaine Marerro of Troy Dance Studio.

As well as great music, you can energize with Spanish tapas or paellas until 10:00 PM.  On YA Salsa Social Sunday's Sangria features a DJ instead of live music.

Every thursday night enjoy great food and drinks while you listen and dance to your favorite salsa and cha cha tunes (90%)  and a splash of merengue and bachata (10%) . this night is dedicated to  the hardcore salsa  lovers.

Enjoy great Cuban appetizers, food and drinks (awesome Mojito's!!!) and then the dance floor is cleared from 9pm to 1am to make room for the dancers on the beautiful wood dance floor!

Hosted by SalsaDetroit.com in downtown Royal Oak, Sangria on Wednesdays has been a hotspot for salsa for years. At about 9:00pm night kicks off with a complementary salsa lesson by duane Wrenn of Energetic Soul Studios. The class is followed up by opening the dance floor to the sounds of Timba and Cuban flavored salsa tracks for about an hour. DJ Cisco closes out the night with a healthy mix of Merengues, Reggaeton , Bachatas, and of course more Salsa!
