Policies for Fair Use

The first thing to remember about this site is that it is intended to help bring together and grow the Detroit Salsa scene. So, that said please contribute those things that carry help out our mission.

Articles and Comments

  • Content should be oriented to Salsa and the Salsa dance scene in Detroit area including Ann  Arbor, Windsor, Toledo and the rest of Michigan.
  • Tell it like it is. You can give your point of view and the opinionated are highly encouraged!
  • It goes without saying, but we have to say it -- please don't cross that fine line into slander or abuse. Slander and abuse will not be tolerated and we will not publish any materials that have that "feel". We truly want honest opinions and open discussion so hopefully this never ever happens. The Salsa scene is not "virtual" so remember that if you push the limits, tomorrow you may have stand next to or even dance with someone who was offended.
  • YA Moderators will have less tolerance for edgy comments by "anonymous" authors than authors with an account.
  • Please no "flame wars" with the childish comments -- we might not remove them, but it just looks silly!

Privacy

Privacy of member's personal information is very important to maintaining a community site.
  • Your email and name will never be given to to third parties for mass email or other uses.
  • Anti-spam features have been added to the site to minimize the risk of misuse.
  • Never include your phone or address in articles or comments
  • Please don't write personal details about others
  • YA Salsa Administrators will not read private messages sent between users.

Moderators

YA Moderators are in place to ensure quality of content and make sure that our policies are enforced. In general, they will just help you get your content published so it looks nice and polished, but they have the right to enforce violations of our content polcies.

Bias

It's OK to promote events and services -- that is certainly part of this site, but please be fair and accurate in statements and avoid exaggeration or overt bias.
