Salsa Fridays at Papi O

For everyone who has been weary looking for a good Salsa night on Fridays in the Ann Arbor, look no further..

Papi O Nightclub has just started Salsa Night dedicated 100% to Salsa with Dj Chepe & Dj Fuego. So for everyone who has had to settle for smaller clubs that dont play enough salsa, come see us on Fridays at Papi O. The entrance is $8 for everyone but with alot of Dance space and the best the area's best Djs it is well worth it...

I have been to Papi O's a few times on Saturday. The music and bass is super loud into the night. I hope if you are doing pure salsa on Friday. You can make it a little bit reasonable. We are going to dance, not to torture our own ears. :)

When I Dj I try to keep the music at a reasonable level. I want people to have fun to the music, but at the same time i think that people should be able to hear each other when they talk....So I will be monitoring the levels on Fridays. But if you think its too loud come see me in the booth and let me know, I always welcome comments from the crowd on how we can make any event that im doing a better one...

I wish you would still play

I wish you would still play bachata and merengue... most people who are salsa purists are mainly not into reggaeton (even though I don't mind it myself) but still like to do the bachata and merengue. sometimes the reggaeton becomes too long because the people who don't know how to dance request it a lot. i think papi o's has by far the best dance floor and if you might change it to 'mainly' salsa with some other latin dances mixed in - even cumbia please, i think it would be much better than ONLY salsa. as of now, i've been going to heidleberg and unless you mix up the music a little bit i will not switch to papi o's... :(

Papi O will play other genres as well on Friday

I dont think we'll play salsa ALL night. We plan to mix in other genres, but reggaeton will not be played. If you have any music you want to hear, be it bachata, merengue or cumbia just come and request it and we will play it. We promote as a Salsa Night because we want people to know that they'll hear it for the majority as opposed to some other places that may only play a couple songs here and there..

The night tonight is dedicated to Salsa. We will be playing it majority of the night...but upon request we'll throw on other music as long as its not reggaeton....As far as the Heidelberg goes, we working with the owner to build it back up but the deal collapsed when the owner wanted to have us exclusively and didnt want us playing anywhere else....But tonight is Salsa Night... and for everyone that has been craving one in the area will get all they can handle...

i just wonder how this new night is going? i went on the first night (july 3) but it was empty. i was disappointed because papi o's has hands down the best dance floor of any salsa club in the metro area - bouncers prevent people from standing on the dance floor as well as drinking on the dance floor, and it is very large and good smooth wood which is 'slippery' enough for fast spins. please tell me the place has become more crowded because i will leave heidelberg in a heartbeat!
