Fusion Salsa Social THIS Sunday

Sunday, December 14th

At the American Legion Post 346 (map)

(Same place where the YA Salsa Socials are held)

This is not a YA Salsa event. It just happens to be at the same place.

THIS WILL BE THE FIRST MIXED BALLROOM AND SALSA EVENT OF ITS KIND.

 

Salsa & Ballroom Dance Performances!

Free Refreshments!

 

Take this opportunity to learn Detroit Ballroom!

Add some more dancing and possibilities by learning the Detroit style ballroom steps. Expand your dancing repetoir to enjoy more styles of dancing to more types of music. If you ever been to Club Yesterdays then you already know. This Sunday is an opportunity to learn the dance, meet some new people, and still get all the salsa you want. Hope to see you there!

 Highlights!
  • 2 level of dancing - Salsa, Cha Cha // Detroit Ballroom, Chicago Step
  • $10 for 2 hours of Dance Workshops - 4pm - 6pm
  • $10 Open Dancing from 6pm - 10pm
  • Proceeds will go to the committee to Elect Freman Hendrix for Detroit Mayor
  • Jamin and Samer will be your Salsa DJ's
  • Bobby Green will handle the Ballroom music!

I think the concept of dual dancing is great. I personally love to mix and mingle different ingredients to come up with something special. I have always believed metro Detroit has the greatest mix and most talented dancers there are. Ms Martinez has brought together a most grand idea. Let the dance begin! Dancer2Bob will be there.

Thanks, I am excited about the event. I have danced ballroom, attempted to learn Chicago Step, and Bop. It is cool to learn other styles of dancing and dance to other music. In the last social, Kathy and Micah of Chicago danced to "Give It To Me" by Nelly Furtado. Check them out on the video of this site.

So far, we have had a REALLY positive response to the concept...now all we need is your support. If this is something that salseros and ballroom dancers support, having future FUSION socials or social dancing at a weekly nightclub would be an option.

I can not take ALL of the credit. Bobby Green has been in my ear, along with a few others with the concept. I know of a few ballroom dancers that ask me to dance a salsa while at ballroom events and I just thought the mix would be cool.

Don't forget we will have at least 2 performances (Salsa and Chicago Step)....2 hours of lessons...2 levels of music....and 5 GOOOOLDEN RINGS! :-)

Thank you so much!!! The idea to mix Ballroom & Salsa was wonderful!!!
I loved it so much!!! 2 hours of lessons - is just perfect!!!
There were not A LOT of people, like on a usual Social, but : we had more place to dance :)))
It's always good to learn smth new, so it was a really nice experience with Detroit Ballroom and Chicago Step this time!!!
The performances were just awesome - no words, really, only emotions!!!:)))
