OMG, how I have missed Salsa night at the Harem. What memories! Haven't you?
Your presence has been requested. I would like to inquire if there is interest in SKYMAMBO (or a hybrid group..hehe) reviving a Thursday Salsa night?
Would you come out to support?
The location is the hottest, most contemporary club in town. Located on W. Grand Blvd. inside of the Fisher building, in Detroit. It is convenient to all major highways. (We travelled from Farmington and it only took us 12 minutes.) If any of you have ever been there, it is a classy spot. I really think it would be great but, of course, we nee your support.

I'll do my part!
I truely miss Harem and now with Sangria Sundays sudden disappearance there truely is a big hole in the Detroit Salsa scene. A key thing to mention we talk about "supporting", is that night clubs are a business and in order to support our scene, salseros must not only dance, but provide financial support to the businesses. Cover charge alone will never keep a salsa night going. Not even close.
South Beach Ultra Lounge will require a lot of promotional capability to develop a large enough audience to fill it week after week -- and two weeks into it, that has been completely missing. Its big enough (probably capacity of 400+) to warrant multiple promoters even for one night.
I like the club. I want to go dancing and am willing to support it. How about everyone else?

I am hoping that there is an expressed interest to support this venue. It is absolutely beautiful with an excellent dancefloor. I think it would be great.

I just got an email from George Guzman saying the night was canceled and will reopen on the 23rd with a "re grand opening halloween party".

Why was South Beach postponed?
Will the Octo 23rd reopening still be a 'Latin' Night?
is it still FREE before 10pm? (if so, i can kidnap a few people and bring them along.)

We, at Skymambo (Jamin, Shekyla, Samer and I) are not hosting the Thursday night at South Beach. I love that place. If we were, I would be right there giving out my Mambo bear hugs!
I WILL be passing out hugs at the social events all weekend. :-)

New Thursday Salsa Night right around the corner
Starting November 13th@ Sips bar and Grill. 30555 Grand River Ave in Farmington Hills. The place is 2 blocks east of the YA Social. DJ Isaac will be the DJ. The other details are still being finalized. I will post as soon as I finalize everything.
