Pi Restaurant is the location of a monthly series of salsa Fridays hosted by Salsa Detroit, Dal Bouey, and Hype Detroit. The evening starts with a free dance lesson and performances by some of the best dancers in Detroit.
Located near 12 mile and Northwestern Highway, Pi Restaurant offers premium bar service, gourmet food, and hors d'ouevres.
I really like the location!
Pi is very conveniently located, it's a nice restaurant and while its real wood with some actual texture and grooves the dance floor is nice. Bar service is very slow - last time I had to wave at the bartenders like I was in NYC in the rain (go to NYC and try to get a cab in the rain... to save you time -- you will not get a cab and they will drive by you empty or full). While its only once a month it is a well produced night and is worth checking out!

Hola, salseros. George, I agree that Pi is awesome. I hope everyone comes out this November 21st. It's such a nice atmosphere, and perfect location.
Regarding Amnesia: just want to mention that the guy in charge agreed with me last time that $20 was too much to ask of the gentlemen. He made it sound like they were going to change the admission charge. My concern was that there were not enough guys coming. Let's try to find out if they have lowered the charge... Also, the band (Ritmo) is great! I love to support live salsa music in our town. BTW, last time I mentioned to them that the salseros found most of the songs to be too fast... guess what? THEY LISTENED TO ME, AND HAVE SLOWED DOWN THE TEMPO OF THE SONGS. It is now MUCHO, MUCHO MEJOR! :)
