New Latin Night @ South Beach Ultra Lounge with Grupo Escobar
Posted September 18th, 2008 by Geo-
Detroit is getting a little closer to Miami but this has nothing to do with global warming. Thursday Latin Nights go uber-upscale at the Miami style South Beach Ultra Lounge in the Fisher Building in downtown Detroit. Hosted by D, Cooper & Salsa Ray, Grupo Escobar add to their weekly schedule and get the downtown crowd moving to the sounds of Havana.

| The night starts off with Salsa lessons and continues on with Grupo Escobar and DJ George -- well known from his days at Parabox. |

Notes
- When you enter the building, look for the sign that says "South Beach Pizza" that will probably be changed in the near future.
- Parking is available in the garage on the W. Grand Blvd entrance or on the street parking lots. It should be about $5 in the surrounding lots.

How was it
Looks like I found out about this a day late. How was it for those who attended. I'm new to the area, so it seems there are only a couple "clubs" for salsa. It'd be nice to support any new places that come up.
If anyone can comment on how this place was, I'd love to read it.
I enjoyed it. Very nice
I enjoyed it. Very nice layout and styling. Here is a quick video:

south beach and new sundays in Berkley
Hi, I'm Steve, the lead singer in Grupo Escobar. South Beach is cool, lots of space, DJ and live band every Thursday free before 10. Had a blast!
We are also doing our own night on Sundays - we run the show at the Knights of Columbus in Berkely and its only going to get better!
