Help These Teens Promote Salsa & Dance!
Most of the 200 students, parents, and teachers that are expected to attend know very little about the Detroit Salsa Community. The event organizers are really hoping that people from our salsa community can join them for dancing
so that everyone can see that salsa is good clean fun that anyone can learn and enjoy for years to come. So come out, bring your flashy moves and help these kids with their goal of getting people excited about salsa!

The Spanish American Latino Student Association (S.A.L.S.A) came together in 2005 with the goal of creating an environment where Latino and non-Latino students alike can celebrate the Latino culture through dance as well as continual contributions to the Latino community through charitable works. At the heart of the S.A.L.S.A Club is the dancing spirit. Each year the S.A.L.S.A Club culminates with the SA.L.S.A. Club Show. The show is where club members perform Latin dances ranging that include salsa, tango, bolero, cha cha, merengue, bachata, and cumbia. But the celebration does not stop there. The audience is invited to more then just watch. They are invited to experience the Latin flavor with a dance social open to everyone that includes a wide variety of home cooked Latin dishes. The message they want to get across is that Latin dancing fun and is for everyone. I’m sure we can all relate to that!
Growth of the SALSA Club has been slow due to lack of exposure but their resolve to get the word out has never been stronger. There are a lot of similarities between the S.A.L.S.A. Club and YA Salsa. Both are non-profit organizations. Both love to dance salsa. Both have the goal of spreading the word about it, etc. Up until just a few weeks ago one the S.A.L.S.A. Club didn’t even know that YA even existed or that there was even a Detroit salsa community out there (and vise versa). We are really excited to have finally learned about each other. Hopefully we can help them generate some excitement about Latin dancing and help bring their organization to new heights. All we have to do for starters is just come out and dance with at their social. Nothing gets people more excited about dancing then seeing a bunch veteran salseros throw down. And your mere 6 dollar contribution at the door will go a long way in helping them achieve there goal of spreading the love for Latin dance to others who don’t know about it yet.
So come on out and dance. Most of the YA team will be there along with our special guest, Johnny & Andres of Salsa y Control. These guys are even throwing in a special performance for the kids!
See you on the dance floor!

Awesome day
I've gone to this show two years in a row; this will be my third and I wouldn't miss it for the world. It definetly is a lot of fun, oh and the food way out off the book. If you like to dance don't miss out on this event plus the show is good and you get to meet a lot of people.
