Salsa, that Rock Band didn't mean anything to me!

A salsa party with Rock Band is like going to a party with your new girl and then the one who jilted you 5 years ago (but you never got over) shows up - and of course you spend the whole night with the old one. But fortunately for you, Salsa is very forgiving and never mentions it again. But then you just can't get the old one out of your head.... OK, the thing is I love jamming out to karaoke.
Sebastian threw us another salsa practice party and we practiced all night; just to different things. Split into two camps, some spent the night in the basement working on their salsa as the invite stated, and some never made it past the big screen tv, guitar, drums & mic. Regardless it was great night and we clearly re-established "Detroit Rock City" with Jamin on guitar, and Samer on lead tongue (KISS reference.)
See party photos...
For those uninitiated, Rock Band is karaoke on steroids and probably about as addictive as any game ever made - as evidenced by glassy eyed stares at 3 AM when due to a combination of fatigue and the fact that we had played pretty much every song in Sebastian's library that any of us had ever heard - we called it quits. For the night.
Thanks Sebastian for the party and the great hosting. Abe thanks for the hand toss lessons - I will practice. Jamin, thanks for letting someone else play Rock Band - however briefly... (the man is addicted to salsa and to rock band) Jhoanna, thanks for the "8/10" - big ego boost on a night where a cold calculating computer failed to appreciate the artistic integrity and pain in my voice. All my band mates -- thanks for the patience - it takes some getting used to. And most of all -- thanks everyone for NOT playing Bon-Jovi's "Dead or Alive" -- it meant a lot to me.

Salseros can Rock too!!!
George thank you for the kind words. I have to admit the party didn't go as planned, but then again who is to say that's a bad thing. Last time I threw a Salsa party dancing and not rock band was what ruled the night. This time around Rock Band overtook the night. It was great seeing people like Samer, Akil and George rock out and really get into it (especially Samer HA). For those that came expecting more dancing I appologize and guarantee next time around, and yes there WILL be a next time, dancing will rule the night! But for now I'm going to remember how much fun it was and enjoy the pictures that George posted (I'll be adding some soon). I want to say Thank you to everyone who came and hope to see you at the next party.
Oh yeah - we can rock!
And we have more pics added to the gallery to prove it.
