Bitter cold on the outsitde, Blazin' Salsa on the inside!
Posted February 12th, 2008 by Jamin
As always we say thanks to you for coming out to dance with us on Sunday. Surprisingly 250+ people braved the sub zero temperatures just to dance salsa! It was bitter cold on the outside, but once inside it was blazin’. When you have 250 people dancing non-stop, not even the artic temperatures can keep a room cool! By the way, where did all the new faces come from??
Another notable thing about this social was the amount of first time visitors. It is amazing to me because sometimes I feel we should be doing more to spread the word but it looks like you are already doing that for us! Word of mouth is by far the biggest influence on the awesome turnouts for these events. Here is a big THANK YOU to everyone who ever said and thing nice about the social to a friend. Trust me, it makes a difference!
Bring Your Fliers!
Another thing about these first time visitors is that a lot of them are looking for more salsa classes! I highly encourage anyone offering salsa classes to bring some fliers! Or have someone else bring them for you! The YA Salsa team volunteers a lot of time creating opportunities to show the inquisitive masses what the salsa community has to offer. Take advantage of it! It’s FREE! I cannot stress this enough!
A special thanks goes out to Lisa and Albert for sacrificing precious dancing time to photograph the night. Photos of the February social are online for your viewing pleasure. More photos on the way!
