All right, guys....
I know there are two events tonight and that is AWESOME! If you can make it for one or even both parties, I say brave that cold and let's go dancing.
Good luck to everyone at Energetic Soul, I hope you all have a fabulous time and of course.... Feliz Cumple Nelly! You are amazing and I wish I could be there to celebrate with you :).

Last minute?
I had friends standing in front of the building at 10 calling me asking if it was cancelled. No where does it say on their website that the night was cancelled, nor did they post anything to let everyone know it was cancelled. I feel bad for the people who drove to Pontiac to find out it was cancelled.

I feel so bad for those people! I was finally able to find out before I made the trip there late Fri. afternoon when I found out how to communicate with the lady in charge, after trying to get it on the web, looking for Crofoot on the "Yellow Book" (no luck). As soon as I found out I called a few people I thought would go & had their number. By then it was too late to put it on the web..... I understand she will advertise new dates & events.
Ms. Match should not be allowed to advertise on this site!!
Many people braved the weather, gas, parking, etc. for nothing. You can't just decide to cancelled an event at the last minute.

Wow, this crowd is way to harsh! Events and Salsa nights come and go, and thank goodness for the regular nights still on. I have gone to places where it is clearly posted on websites and even called the event place, confirmed the evening, showed up and not a soul was there. I hear sympathy for the places not surviving for the lack of participation, where is the consideration in this one. I do not believe that this promoter was neglecting the handful who did support, it is just business and it seems to me that they made a public apology for not announcing a formal cancellation. Give them a break and continue to support anyone who at least is trying to put something together. Wow again, and thank goodness for Nellie that at least she found out in time, that is the beaty of being well connected, so word of mouth should does and has always worked, do not rely on only one way, especially when a venue is new and trying to work on your behalf!
2 wrongs don't make a right
Just because someone else was inconsiderate does it mean that it is OK for others to do the same. Especially when you have every opportunity take appropriate action. Yes, it is unfortunate that the night could not continue. It is also unfortunate that supporters got blown off in the process. There is no excuse for someone who puts so much energy into telling people to show up and then canceling it without even the slightest effort to inform anyone. Instead it took Mama Nellie to scour the web, make phone calls to everyone she knew just to find the contact information to finally verify the event, and then call everyone again to tell them not to show up. At least it could have been posted on the same site it was announced. Yep, Nellie had to do that too! Thank you Nellie for looking out for us!
The fact that word of mouth worked even a little was by Nellie's sheer will alone. Imagine if Nellie didn't take the time do all that. This "handful" of people that actually showed would have been a lot more. Personally I think it was more then a "handful" that showed up anyway. It was a warmer then usual night, the roads were clear, and me and my friends were looking forward to it. I was anticipating a good night. Now imagine what the word of mouth will be like now...

Dear friends, I feel so moved for all the loving comments! I just had to find out & let you know... I wish I found out earlier to save the salseros that did go there! I love you guys!
By the way, heartful thanks for all of you that came yesterday to the Social! You braced the cooold day & came to have a great event! And Cisco, I'm so glad you could make it! It was great to have you there!
