Geo-

When is the afterparty?

I can't make it to the concernt - at least not near the time it starts. I'd love to get down there for the afterparty though. What time do you think it will start?

Awesome Show

I loved every minute of it. I just wish there was more room to dance!

Trumpet Lady

Yeah it was weird being at a salsa concert and not having a huge space to dance but it was still a good show. People were dancing anyway. The Music Hall security didn't seemed baffeled by all the people dancing in the isles.

One of the coolest parts of the show was when the only female backup singer stepped up to the main mic and did a trumpet solo. She was awesome! While she was up there, Gilberto took her spot and sang backup with the other backup singers. I thought that was pretty cool too.

During the last song of the night Elaine of TDS got oup there and danced a quick salsa with Gilberto while he was still singing. That opened the floodgates for other ladies to do the same thing. Gilberto was singing and dancing salsa with at least 5 ladies. he was doing it all that night :)

Energizing

By the third song the audience got in the groove and you could feel the energy of the music and dance. Gilberto, the back up singers, & musicians were true performers. Gilberto had some pretty smooth dance steps. Cameras were flashing, hands clapping a clave, and the audience joined in song for one romantic melody. When the ladies next to us got up to take some pics we danced in the aisle. So as not to block anyone's view we sat down when they returned even though it killed me not to dance. A very sweet usher came down and discreetly told me that "they" didn't want us up dancing in the middle aisle. So I met up with salseros and danced in the back by the sound booth. It was hotter than blazes which didn't stop us. By the middle of the concert people were dancing wherever there was enough room. The ushers, sound crew, & other staff got caught up in the excitement. I saw a few join in for a salsa or two. By the time I returned to my seat others around me were dancing in the aisle so I joined them only to be cheered on by the gentleman behide me. His lady friend gave me the nod of approval.
The energy continued as dancers filled the dance floor, landings, lobby, & entranceways. They even opened the doors to cool us off. It was great to reconnect with former dance partners.
Except for being furniture challenged I had a great time.It could only happen to me! The perspiration on my arm attracted the arm rest which stuck to me and repeatedly fell off. Seriously, I wasn't trying to remove it as memorabilia with the seat & row number embelishment. Witnesses know I replaced it before I left. Exhaustion from dancing & enjoying the music were enough of a reminder for me of a night well spent.
