dancing for the older ones

I was thinking of taking my mom the red parrot lounge for her 65th birthday. .. She loves to latin dance, but I don't want her to feel out of place. What's the crowd like there on Sat nights? Ages? If it's not a good idea to take her there, any suggestions?

Mama Nellie is there
Mama Nellie is dancing there every week and she is 77! There are a few "older" people who go to dance there but that are by far in the minority. I would guess that most people there are between the ages of 21 and 25. It is definitely a popular place. Around 500 people show up there every week!
As for myself, I don't go there that often, so hopefully someone who is more of a regular can give you a better answer.
As long as your mom is not offended my scantily clad ladies she should be alright :)

Suggestions...
For taking your mom out for latin dancing I would suggest either Harem on Thursday or Sangria on Sunday. With Harem, it's a nice social atmospehere and there are lots of good dancers around who can who would be more than happy to dance with someone new -- and if you menition something to Jamin, Shekayla, Samer or Cat I'm sure they can hook you up with a B-day annoucement or something fun. On Sunday at Sangria you can always combine dinner with the dancing and again it's a nice social atmosphere and there is a live band who do a nice Birthday song. On the other hand, the Red Parrot is more of a club atmosphere and younger crowd. Unfortunately there are not that many good options available for Friday and Saturday.
