What happened?

I'm not sure what happend, but last night -- Wednesday at Sangria Sky Club was completely different. Normally when I walk in, Sangria is 50% dancers 50% club goers. Last night it was pretty much just a salsa crowd. While I was there 10:30 - 12:30 they played just salsa with a few bachatas. The DJs danced. Everyone but the bartenders was dancing. There were some ruedas. Much better feel! Was it just me noticing that?

In the past few years I've kept Sangria Wednesdays on my regular routine, but usually that means ducking in at 10 and out by 11:30. Once they would start the long merengue / reggaeton sets I'd call it a night and by then I'd pretty muched danced with everyone. Last night was a lighter crowd than usual. But a dancing crowd!

I'm not sure if there was some change or it the stars just aligned for a brief instance, but I really liked it. Hope it stays that way for a while.

It may have to do with Finals?

I didnt know this before but someone just informed me that it is finals week at the colleges so that might explain some of the light turnouts. But don't worry, the crowds will be back along with long sets of non-salsa :)

Now, Wednesday @ Sangria is one my favorite nights of the week. I have lots of salsa dancing fun and the more salseros come, the more salsa will be played... And I do like some merengue & bachata! I AM LATINA!!!
Of course, I also like Thursdays @ Harem, Fridays @ Gaslight, Saturdays @ the Red Parrot & THE GREAT SALSA SOCIALS!!!!
