YA Salsa October Workshop Fantastic!

YA Salsa Workshop
Thanks to everyone who came out the workshops on Saturday. We hope you learned a lot From the feedback we received so far, it sounds like you did! What was cool about this particular workshop was that we didn't just get one or 2 workshop instructors, we got 7!! While Mark and Akila were leading the classes, the other dancers from the Mas Mambo dance company were walking around the class and helping out individuals when they needed it. By the end of the class, everyone was getting the step. It is a special perk that comes with Mas Mambo that we were lucky to have.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. ALL proceeds from the YA Social are used to continuously bring in exceptional salsa dancers, performers, and instructors for your salsa edification at an exceptionally low rate. There are not many other places on the planet you get workshops with internationally recognized salsa dance artists for only $10 a lesson. The YA Team is workin' for you and workin' for free! So when you see one of our YA organizers give em a hug and say THANKS! That is all the payment we need :)

I Miss YA and Salsa Detroit

Hey Jamin and friends. Jamin is right, there aren't many other places on the planet where you can get what YA provides for the Salsa community in southeastern Michigan. I've told Jamin that I'm living in Albany, NY right now and am miserable:( I frequently visit the YA website, look at what's happening, reminisce on the days when I was part of that community and get goose-bumps. If you're there in Michigan, don't take it for granted. If you'll be moving out some day, enjoy it while you can and hopefully your new home will have something similar. The good thing about living here is that I get to go to the Jimmy Anton social in Manhattan when I want to, and it is fun. Still though, there was definately something special about YA that I miss. Much love to YA and Salsa Detroit.

We miss you too brother!

Speaking of taking things for granted. A couple ladies I know when to a social in another city for the first time assuming that they are all basically the same. They were shocked to find that there was no food and that they had to actually buy water! She came back and said, "You guys are really spoiling us in Detroit!"

So take nothing for granted! We are really lucky to have the right group of people come together at the right place at the right time. And that does not happen often!

People actually read this stuff!!

I was at dance revolution and a girl came up to me and gave me a hug. For a second I thought that this cologne must really be workin for me tonight. But I came crashing back down to reality when she explained that she read the YA newsletter and it asked her to give a hug to a YA Social organizer and say thanks. So then I thought, wow, someone is actually reading this stuff! WOO WOO!!

Mental Note: In the next newsletter ask for a kiss!!

kiss?

Or money ...

LOL - Now that is funny!

i guess that is a good indication of how backward wired my brain is!

Kiss or money?

Be careful what you ask for! It could get you into trouble! Wouldn't want it miscontrued even if it would put a smile on your face and questions in your head.
