El Gran Combo Returns!
Puerto Rico's biggest band, El Gran Combo returns to Detroit for a night of music at Club International in the heart of Mexico Town. Last here in February 2006, El Gran combo is one of the premier salsa bands on the planet and this is a must see concert.

Opening for for El Gran Combo are local favorites Orchestra Sensacional and rising latin pop star Domenic Marte. This should be a big night and a great opportunity to see not only one of the biggest bands in the world but one of the founding bands of the salsa sound and their current evolution.

El Gran Combo Returns to Detroit! Sort of...

There's something about El Gran Combo that makes them not only the biggest band in Puerto Rico, but the also the most elusive band in Detroit. As I headed down to Club International in Mexican Town, my thoughts were largely centered on questions:
- Would there be room to dance?
- Would the salseros come out to support the band in a somewhat remote location from the usual salsa spots?

I don't know if you are already awaye of this but El Gran Combo will also be playing at the Delta Plex in Grand Rapids the following day on the 29th.
