Workshops

I went to the two on saturday, and the spontaneously arranged one on sunday. They were good. He only taught turn patterns on Elaine's request (no shines). Giovanni's a good teacher -giving tips to ensure that the guys learned to lead the pattern, reminding girls to follow and not just go through the motions. He's also funny and engaging which made the workshops fun. I thought the patterns were a little advnaced, but over all I though they were good workshops.

Advanced?? Had I known it

Advanced?? Had I known it was going to be an advanced level class I might have made more of an effort to show up. Since the classes were listed (in the email) as 'All Levels' I didnt feel like risking the drive or the 20 for fear of the class being too basic.

Intermediate/Advanced

Giovanni watched us all dance with 2 or 3 partners first to see people's levels and then tailored the class accordingly. I don't think that anyone was a true beginner there. In the first session he showed two variations - an easier and a harder. He did the same on Sunday. I have video of the Sunday pattern I can share.

Also - beware that having only been dancing salsa for 15months, my version of advanced and yours might be slightly different :)

YouSendIt.com

I would love to see it! Ever use www.yousendit.com? It is a free way to send large files... like video :)

You Tube

It's on my youtube site.

They talked about putting the clips on Facebook, so I don't think they'll mind that it's there.

Looking at it, I think the sunday one was the easiest of the three. Though some leaders had a hard time w/ timing their turn at the end.

A friend is sending me the saturday ones - I'll see if he'll let me post them.

Post some links?

Can't find it. I did a search for Troy Dance and another for Giovanni but nothing comes up.
Can you post the links?

Added to Online Classes

I added Giovanni's pattern demonstration to the Online Classes page.
