Vincente's Disappointment

I went to Vicente’s Friday, December 14, 2007. I t has been a while since I had visited. I was looking forward to a new Salsa experience as well as having dinner. I did not have to wait for a table, Great. Water was served, Wonderful. I was sitting with my friend and talking taking in the sites. Chatter was loud but people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It seemed as if there was going to be a late start for the dance lesson and music. I thought ok that will give us time to enjoy a little food. That is if our server would come to take our order. Finally some one came over to ask if our order had been taken. We told them no. The waitperson said he would find our server. A few minutes later (about 3/5 min) the wait person returned to say our wait person would be over shortly. I told him not to bother we were leaving. We had been waiting for about 20/30 min. As we were leaving the Hostesses commented on us leaving so soon, we told them we had not been served. Both of their mouths dropped open. They could not believe it. I asked to speak with the manager. One of the young ladies called him. As we were waiting some people came in and asked if anyone had seen Debbie Stabenow because someone was looking for her. The Manager finally decided to show up. I expressed my disappointment and all I got from him was excuses. “We cut our wait staff so people are confused as to what area they are handling" "It's Friday and we are busy" etc....... never once” I'm sorry for your inconvience" or apology. His whole attitude and demeanor said I really don't care about you and I'll just get more customers to take you place. I guess we were just not important enough. This experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I will definitely have to think more then twice about returning to Vincente’s.

5/10

it was ok. they played good music, and there was room to dance. its no club though, so come with friends. and dont plan on learning anything durring there "lesson."

lesson

I believe the lesson is geared toward those who know
nothing about salsa dancing. I was there on 1-25-08 and there was a great
crowd! The dance floor was packed!

lessons at Vicentes

I believe you are right about the lesson geared toward those who know nothing about dancing. I have also seen dancers join the crowd. Dinner is great and the dance floor usually gets packed. It is also conveniently located in Downtown Detroit. Good place to start and encourage to continue at the Salsa Socials.
