A short but potent night for salsa...
Los Gatos performs here every Thursday. This place also features 2 salsa classes led by Laura Geldys. The dance floor is small but that doesn't stop the dancers from coming to take the salsa classes and listen to the music.

Firefly ... hmpf!
Posted October 19th, 2007 by jesssoulWell, I decided that since I needed to work late in Ann Arbor I'd forego my regular Thursday night salsa gig at Harem and go straight over to the Firefly Club on South Main Street in Ann Arbor.
Misleading stats yasalsa please change
yasalsa people, 80% for this club is a bit misleading . You giving 80% rating is a little off. One could argue its a statistic based on percentage, I agree, if they play 4 salsa out of a total 5 songs , It is still 80% . I am a recent transplant to AnnArbor and tried this place
Yes, for you the math is right but for a salsera its a feeling of being tricked. I agree with the first person who posted. I will wait till I hear good words from people before returning.
What needs to change?
Thanks for the feedback! I certainly have no problem updating the info. So if the number is indeed correct what is not correct that made you feel tricked? What were you expecting? What was the reality? And what description would you like to see that is more accurate?
Seriously, I am really glad you said something. The more people that post messages about a club the more accurate a picture it will paint for people trying to find the type of club they are looking for.
I thought the band was
I thought the band was fantastic! a gem to the dance community. I was a little sad when they packed up shortly after the lesson and then their was no music. Can you turn on the satellite salsa station and leave the doors open till 2 or later? JK.
I love the floor and the room. Good Spot.

I think...
I think Los Gatos play kind of early and then there is a lesson and then the salsa part of the night ends early. So he is asking (probably with a smile) if they can at least play some salsa music -- even if they don't go through the expense of a DJ.
We would really love it if the people who are familiar with this night would help make sure the article is as accurate as possible!
