La Inspiracion Celebrates Cinco de Mayo! Berts Warehouse in Eastern Market and La Inspiracion are teaming up to celebrate Cinco de Mayo the salsa way. Kicking off what will become a regular once a month Monday night, Ozzie Rivera and his band bring their latin sound to one of Detroit's great jazz hangouts. This night starts with a Mexican themed dinner along with a live Mariachi band and continues on with latin music downstairs and top 40 upstairs in the Sky Club. DJ Cisco (Downstairs) playing salsa / merengue/ bachata DJ Capt'n 20 will be spinning upstairs with top 40

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra will host a Mother's Day concert with Miami latin jazz stars Tiempo Libre. Tiempo Libre will join the DSO in performing a piece by Venezuelan composer Ricardo Lorenz & Tiempo Libre pianist Jorge Gómez. Rumba Sinfónica celebrates Cuba’s musical heritage and features Tiempo Libre's danceable Timba roots. This is a great oppportunity to celebrate Mom and have a great musical experience.
