The Detroit Connection

Detroit connections include:

Transportation

In addition to Planes, and Automobiles, there are also Trains and Buses.
  • Flights are still relatively inexpensive with prices as low as $156 on Travelocity
  • A recent addition to the Detroit/Chicago route is MegaBus where you can make a round trip for $30 - $40. A number of people have recommended this so take a look at www.megabus.com
  • You probably won't be the only salsero on the ride.
  • Also the more traditional train is still a bit cheaper than the plane at between $55 and $95 for a round trip. For information on Amtrak, click here...

Timing

I'm sure this is going to be a great event, I'm hoping to attend..however I wonder why the Chicago Salsa Congress isn't in the spring or summer. Walking around at 2 a.m. trying to find food near the hotel in February isn't fun!

Anyone else going to this?

Sumer Festival

I went to this event last year. I believe it was their first Summer Festival. I have to say it wasn't well visited, there were just few salseros/salseras, besides of performers, on evening show / concerts. Evening shows and day workshops were at different locations, so it wasn't very convenient. We still did enjoy the time, because we went as a group of friends and festival at Grand Park was worth to see. I hope they can get more people this year.
